I’m running !play framework 2.1.3 for a project and today I got the error “Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM warning: ignoring option MaxPermSize=256M; support was removed in 8.0.”. I’ve updated to Java 8 recently and this was the cause, I simply reverted back to Java 7.8 and I can compile the project again!

Working with ODCB in Windows 7 64 bit could be a bit confusing, of course there are two versions of OBDC administrator available (one for 32 bit and one for 64 bit), this could cause some trouble when trying to add sources depending on if it’s 32 bit or 64 bit).

Here you find the different versions of ODBC administrator:
The 32-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64 folder.
The 64-bit version of the Odbcad32.exe file is located in the %systemdrive%\Windows\System32 folder.

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942976.

machine:
“An error occurred while verifying the application. Unable to install or run the application.
The application required that assembly be installed in the Global Assembly

Hipporemote for Iphone

The hipporemote for Iphone is a wireless mouse/keyboard combination. I have and older rf-keyboard for my htpc, but it’s not working very well. I thought of buying a blutooth keyboard, but then I downloaded this app. The mouse works as trackpad and the keyboard as the built in on-screen keyboard on Iphone. It works great and saved me some bucks!

Btw, this text was written using Hipporemote!
